The Cornish Cyder Farm is a family farm owned and
run by David & Kay Healey since 1986.
The farm was bought with the intention of farm
diversification into resurrecting the largely forgotten art
of cider making within Cornwall. Orchards were planted,
buildings renovated & adapted for their new use. Ongoing
expansion has seen further diversification into all types of
fruit processing from jam making, country wines, real fruit
juices and most recently into cyder brandy.
As is traditional with this type of business, visitors have
always been welcome to "watch us work" and taste
our products. We are now "The Nations Favourite Farm
Visit" with all the usual visitor amenities you would
expect.
The farm is approximately 150 years old and is listed as
being of special architectural interest in an area
designated as of outstanding natural beauty. All our
renovations have been carried out in keeping with the total
character of the farm and any new buildings have been
designed with this in mind.
We are the largest Cornish Cider maker in Cornwall and the
only distillers making Cyder Brandy and Fruit Spirits. In
fact we are Cornwall's only distillery - the first in
Cornwall for 300 years.
We make over forty varieties of delicious fruit products
including farm scrumpy, sparkling cider, country fruit wine,
jam and chutneys. Visitors are always very welcome. We are
one of the premier tourist attractions in Cornwall and in
2000 we were voted the "Nation's Favourite Farm
Attraction".
For a memorable day out in Cornwall take advantage of our
guided tours showing you through the press house, bottlery,
jam kitchen, cider museum, distillery and cellars. This includes a tractor and trailer ride through the apple orchards.
Our facilities include a farm shop offering free tasting's
of all our products and a fabulous Cornish restaurant
offering homemade fare.
The fully licensed restaurant can also be booked as a party
venue. It's a great room for a party, for example, a birthday celebration or a Christmas function. |
